To give your AI agents the ability to do things — like reading emails, updating CRM records, or triggering workflows — Pencil uses trusted integration partners to securely connect with your third-party tools.

Who are Pencil’s integration partners?

Pencil currently works with two industry-leading infrastructure providers:

  • Composio

  • Pipedream

Both partners are authorised sub-processors for Pencil AI and are selected for their security, reliability, and ability to support complex, real-time workflows.

What role do integration partners play?

Integration partners provide the hands of your AI agent.

They allow your agent to move beyond analysis and suggestions, and instead take direct action on your behalf.

Examples include:

  • Creating a Jira ticket

  • Drafting or replying to an email

  • Fetching live data from connected tools

  • Updating records in a CRM

When you ask an AI agent to complete a task, the request is translated into a secure API action through one of these partners.

How does Composio work?

Composio is used to power direct AI agent actions and tool usage.

What it does: Enables your agent to actively use connected tools on your behalf.

When it is used: Whenever an agent needs to fetch data or perform an action in real time.

Role: Authorised sub-processor.

Is my data secure?

Yes. Both Composio and Pipedream operate as secure, enterprise-grade infrastructure providers and are approved sub-processors for Pencil AI.

They only perform actions explicitly requested by your AI agent and do not operate independently.
